Ingredients designed to treat hyperpigmentation and their mechanisms are included. Antimicrobials and preservatives are explained as well as why they are required in cosmetic products. Integrating a regime of topicals with oral supplements is discussed as well as benefits and limitations of each. This course also includes the design of a comprehensive skincare regime that will meet individual client needs and preferences. It is important for the practitioner to elicit the cooperation of clients/patients. Factors influencing client/patient decision-making, response to practitioner recommendations, compliance, and reaction to marketing techniques are discussed.
